SING NO LAMENTS FOR ME
Sing no laments for me
Because my hours are long,
Because my thanks are few.
True, there are lands unvisited,
Joys unknown.
I cannot seek life’s riches
With sheer abandon as once I might.
But there are moments,
More precious because they are few,
When I can write a verse
Or read a book.
And I am paid in little things—
A passing smile,
A pleading glance.
I can heal a finger or a broken heart
With just a kiss.
No, sing no laments for me,
For to some, I am the center of their world. . .
I cannot ask for more.

Good Morning:
We want you to know how sincerely we appreciate your kindness, and the spirit of friendly, helpful cooperation which prompted your sending the enclosed material to us.
We have very carefully reviewed this and are sorry indeed that it will not fit into our editorial requirements for the near future. This in no way is a reflection on the merit of your work, but only that it is not what is needed for issues now in progress.
Much of our very best material is sent to us by our good reader friends, and we hope sincerely that you will continue to send us any new poems and articles which you feel might be suitable for inclusion in IDEALS.
Again, our warm and appreciative thank you.
Sincerely,
